The Vislavath Lalunayak Memorial Knowledge Centre was established with a vision to transform the lives of marginalized communities, inspired by the profound impact that education had on my own life and that of my siblings. Despite my parents’ lack of formal education, they made the crucial decision to send us to school. Although we never fully understood their motivation at the time, their choice reshaped our futures. Education is a powerful tool for change, especially for those without access to resources such as land or wealth. My siblings and I grew up facing significant challenges, yet we persevered in our educational journey. We empathize deeply with students from marginalized backgrounds, who often lack basic necessities like electricity, furniture, or access to newspapers and other educational materials. Our initial plan was to create a library in honor of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar to offer a dedicated space for reading and learning. Unfortunately, our request to use Dr. Ambedkar’s name was denied by the registration officials, citing his status as a national leader.

Field Visits

In 2020, in Bandlapadu, Bhopalpally district, the Vislavath Lalu Nayak Memorial Centre organized a field visit for PhD scholars from EFLU. The primary mission of this visit was to immerse themselves in the local culture, engaging directly with the community to hear their stories and understand their way of life.
